Ways to reduce your daily fat intake
Saturated fats are responsible for raising your cholesterol levels, a leading risk factor for coronary heart disease. There are many simple ways to cut down on your daily saturated fat intake. Swap from butter to a margarine spread - butter contains high amounts of cholesterol, saturated fats and trans-fats. Many margarines are now produced with no trans fat and contain higher amounts of good fat (polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats). Swap from full fat foods to reduced fat foods -this can reduce your up to 4kg of saturated fat from your annual fat intake! Grill foods instead of frying -this will eliminate the need for oil when cooking which can contribute unnecessary fat to healthy foods.
