Regular consumption of fish has been found to have numerous health benefits including reducing the risk of various diseases. Fish is a low calorie, low fat, high protein food that also contains high amounts of heart healthy omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 acids are beneficial in reducing cholesterol levels, reducing blood clots and inflammation and contributing to good eye, brain and heart health. Fish should be enjoyed 2-3 times a week. Healthy ways to prepare and eat fish include baked, poached, grilled or steamed.
